Malaysia has become a major player when it comes to the country choice for local students even international students. It is mainly post graduate studies that it is selected for, but there is a growing number of students going there for its undergraduate program. If you want to know why, there are a number of good reasons. There is a wide range of colleges and universities and as many of the courses are conducted in English, it is going to attract students who already have a high level of English. There is a choice of public universities or private with the difference being that the public once concentrate on research based studies and the private ones that have undergraduate or post graduate courses. In some cases there is a link with foreign universities and the degrees offered are recognized globally. The local University Malaya (UM) in Malaysia are one of the best in the world as it is ranked 133rd in the world. There are many other good local universities in Malaysia such as University Putra Malaya (UPM), University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and more. To get into these universities are quite tough but there are few options like Form Six and Matriculation known as Matrix. Form Six are given to all SPM students after their result but Matrix, students must apply during their schooling day and it is only for students who are taking additional mathematic in SPM. Form Six enhances and broaden your thinking capacity where else matrix is a gateway to enter local universities without foundation and matrix. Form Six we can further our studies locally or even globally but Matrix only allow locally. This can be for students who wish to study in local universities in Malaysia but they also can apply private universities too. Some student prefer private university such as Multimedia University (MMU) is one of the best private university and the first private university in Malaysia. As some students wouldn’t want to enroll in other private universities that cost a lot, they will choose MMU since it’s not really costly as well the courses are good and recognizable not only in Malaysia but also worldwide. Malaysian student that want to do law, will enroll into local universities or even MMU since these universities are the only universities with certified legal practice (CLP). CLP is for law student that want to be a certified lawyer and being able to fight in court in Malaysia without it they can’t be a certified lawyer. Students that didn’t get accepted in local universities since mostly they take bumiputera (native citizen of Malaysia), the non-bumiputera will apply into MMU since it is a private university as they offer CLP. The cost is going to encourage many students to come here as it would be cheaper here than in the UK, Australia, USA and New Zealand. This covers tuition fees and the cost of sitting the exam, but equally applies to the cost of living in Malaysia. Accommodation will be cheaper as will day to day spending, so when you add in the chance to visit some beautiful places on days off. New food, new way of life and totally different weather will greet you. In local universities, you are able to learn more about the country, culture even so tradition in other races as Malaysia is an interracial country. No other universities would have it like Malaysia does. There is a mix of the old and the new in Malaysia as many follow the old traditions, but shopping is a new part of the culture and many cities and modern and new. It is a friendly place to study, with student life being one that will be found in other countries, playing pool, visiting the cinema and making new friends. During the semester break, students from other country could visit and travel in Malaysia since Malaysia have many beautiful place and historical country. Activities and events in universities consist many different type of culture since Malaysia is a multiracial country not only the local students can experience it but also for foreign students. This kind of activities could bring students from different background together as they could learn and know about each other religious or even ethnic background.
